Prophecies about Prophet Muhammad in different Scriptures
Prophecies about the Prophet Muhammad in the Torah (The Old Testament)
Hadith No: 335 Sahih Bukhari chapter 34.Sales and Trade
Narrated/Authority of Ataa bin Yassar with whom Allah is pleased
Listed in: Sales and Trade
There are some prophecies about the Holy Prophet that have been mentioned in different scriptures. Let’s dive deep into it.
I met Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Aas with whom Allah is pleased and I asked him, “Tell me about the description of the Messenger of Allah ( Prophet Muhammad SAWW) in the Torah (i.e. Old Testament.”) He replied, ‘Yes. By Allah, he is described in the Torah with some of the qualities attributed to him in the Quran as follows: “O Prophet! We have indeed sent you as a witness (over mankind) And one who gives glad-tidings, and warns others, And one who protects and safeguards the commoners. You are My slave and My Messenger. I called you Mutawwakkil” (The Trusted one). You are neither ill-mannered, nor rude, nor do you raise your voice. You do not pay evil with evil, rather you forgive and pardon. I will not collect his soul until I guide the nations, and until they say, “There is no true god worthy of being worshipped except Allah alone and until they clearly see the truth.”
Ataa bin Yassar with whom Allah is pleased, said I met with Kaab, the Rabbi, and asked him about this narration, and he did not differ with Abdullah B. Amar B.Al Aas with whom Allah is pleased, except for the minor differences in the wording of the narration (Baihaqi #13079).
Prophecies about the Prophet Muhammad in the Bible (New Testament)
The Book of Deuteronomy, chapter xviii, verse 18
“I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; I will put my words, in his mouth.”
If these words do not apply to Prophet Muhammad, as they still remain unfulfilled. Prophet Jesus himself never claimed to be the Prophet alluded to. Even his disciples were of the same opinion. They looked to the second coming of Jesus for the fulfillment of the prophecy. So far it is undisputed that the first coming of Jesus was not the advent of the “prophet like unto thee,” and his second advent can hardly fulfill the words.Jesus as is believed by his Church, will appear as a Judge and not as a Law giver but the promised one has to come with a “fiery law” in his “right hand.”
Prophecies about Prophet Muhammad in Parsi Scripture
Persians worshipped fire and had no understanding of worshipping God alone or believe in Prophets.AT one time the persian received prophetic scripture in 500 B.C mentioning that the prophet would rise from the Arab and that the wise Persians would follow him.
Prophecies about Prophet Muhammad in the Parsi Scripture
There are two collections of scriptures 1) the Dasatir ( the old scripture and 2) the Zand Avasta (the new scripture)
Dasatir no 14:
“ When the Persians sink so low in morality, a man will be born in Arabia whose followers will upset their throne, religion, and everything. The might stiff necked ones of Persia will be overpowered. The house that was built (referring to Abraham building the Kaaba) and in which many idols have been placed will be purged of idols, and people will say their prayers facing towards it.His Followers will capture the towns of the Paris and Taus and Balk and other big places round about people will embroil with one another. The wise man of Persia and others will join His(Prophet Muhammad PBUH) followers.”
Zand Avista
The prophecy is contained in a book which has ever been in the hands of the Parsis and its words do not admit of two interpretations. The coming man is to be an Arab. The persians would join his faith.Fire temples would be destroyed.Idols would be removed.People would say their prayers facing towards the Kaaba.
Can this prophecy fit in with any person other than Muahmmad (PBUH)?
These ancient Persian prophecies predict the coming of a man from Arabia who would change the beliefs of Persians. This man, believed to be Prophet Muhammad, would bring about the destruction of idols, the worship of one God, and the turning of people’s prayers towards the Kaaba. These prophecies align closely with the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
Prophecies about Prophet Muhammad in the Hindu Scripture
In Hindu scripture also there are many prophies about prophet Muhammad(PBUH) which was mentioned in Bhavishya Purana. A man would come from Marusthalnivasinan denizen of the desert (Arabia).The prophecy runs as follows;
Translation Bhavishya Purana
5) “Just the illiterate man with the epithet Teacher, Muhammad by name, came along with his companions.
6) Raja (Bhoja in a vision) to that Great Deva, that denizen of Arabia, purifying with the Ganges water and with the five things of a cow offered sandal wood and pay worship to him
7) O denizen of Arabia and Lord of the Holies to thee is my adoration. O, thou who hast found many ways and means to destroy the devils of the world.
8) O pure one from among the illiterates, O sinless one, the spirit of the truth and absolute master, to thee is my adoration. Accept me at thy fee.” Bhavishya Purana Parv 3, Khand 3, Adhya 3,, Shalok 5-8
Translation Veda
“O people listen to this emphatically! The man of praise (Muhammad PBUH) will be raised among the people. We take the emigrant in our shelter from sixty thousand and ninety enemies whose conveyances are twenty camels, whose loftiness of position touches the heaven and lowers it. He gave to Manah Rishi hundred of gold coins ten circles, three hundred Arab horses and ten thousand cows.”
(Atharva Veda, kanda 20 Sukia 127, Mantra 1-3)
(Extract from Mr.Jairzbhoy’s book Muhammad. A mercy to all the nations.”)
In Hindu scriptures like the Bhavishya Purana and Veda, there are prophecies about a man named Muhammad from Arabia. These prophecies describe him as a great leader who will bring guidance and protection. They mention his companions, his purity, and his ability to combat evil. These prophecies are seen as signs of his importance and influence in the world.
Prophecy: 300 Years before Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
Prophecy three Hundred years before Prophet Muhammad during the rule of Constantine. The Romans declared themselves chiristians. Constantine mixed many of the Christians’ belief with traditions of Romans atheist beliefs. Furthermore, the Constantine changed Sabbath (day of rest) from Saturday to Sunday. All the prophets upto Jesus (PBUH) respected and never ordered to change Sabbath day.Only the Almighthy has the right to change the Sabbath day.Prophet Jesus (PBUH) said that a new law of God would be given to the last Roman citizens were also forced to pay high taxes to the religious establishments.
Before Prophet Muhammad’s time, during the rule of Constantine, the Romans adopted Christianity but mixed it with their own beliefs. Constantine changed the day of rest from Saturday to Sunday, which only God has the right to do according to previous prophets like Jesus. Jesus himself spoke about another Comforter, or Parakletos, who would come after him. This Comforter would guide people in truth and righteousness. Many believe this Comforter refers to Prophet Muhammad, who came after Jesus and brought teachings aligned with those prophesied by Jesus.
John 14:15
“ If ye love me ye will keep my commandments. V.16 And I will pray the Father and he shall give you another Parakletos (Comforter) that he may be with you forever.V.25 The things I have spoken unto you while yet abiding with you V.26. But the comforter (Parakletos) Which is the spirit of truth whom the Father will sent in my Name he shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I said unto you.”
John 16:7
“Nevertheless, I tell you the truth. It is expedient for you that I go away, for If I go not away, the Comforter (Parakletos) will not come unto you, but if I go , I will send him unto you.V.8 and he, when he comes, will convince the world in respect of sin and righteousness and of judgment.
V.12
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
V 13.
Howbeit, when He, the spirit of truth comes, he shall guide you into all the truth for he shall not speak from himself nut what things soever he shall hear, these shall he speak and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come.”
Parakletos means in English that “Comforter” was not uttered by Jesus Christ, but that was “Parakletos” meaning “illustrious or renowned” answering in every aspect to the Arabic word “ Ahmad”. Arabic version of the New “Testament” and thus Parakletos (illustrious) for “Perikalutas “ was forged by some ignorant or designing monk in Muhammad’s time ( Muir, Life of Mahomet)( Extract from Mr. Jairzbhoy’s book “ Muhammad: A mercy to all nation.”)
Gospel of Barnabas edited and translated from Italian in the imperial library at Vienna by Lonsdale and Laura Ragg
Gospel of Barnabas 36
“Now that all prophets have come except the Messenger of God who shall come after me.”
Gospel of Barnabas 38
Then answered John: “Master, let us wash ourselves as God commanded by Moses.”
Jesus said:”Think ye that I am come to destroy the law and the prophets? Verily I say unto you, as God liveth, I am not come to destroy it, but rather to observe it. For Every Prophet hath observed the law of God and all that God by other Prophets hath spoken.”
“Remember Moses, the servant of God, who with his prayer scourged Egypt opened the Red Sea, and there drowned Pharaoh and his host.Remember Joshua, who made the sun standstill. Samuel, who smote with fear the innumerable host of the Philistines, Elijah, who made the fire to rain from heaven, Elijah raised a dead man, and so many other Holy Prophets.Who by Prayer obtained all that they asked. But those men truly did not seek their own in their matters, but sought only God and his Honor.”(Prophet Muhammad the last Messenger in the Bible by Kais Al Kalby p.no. 98)
The Gospel of Barnabas presents Prophet Muhammad as the final messenger after Jesus and emphasizes the importance of adhering to God’s laws as taught by various prophets, including Adam, Moses, Abraham, Joshua, Samuel, and Elijah. It underscores the significance of seeking God’s honor rather than personal gain and highlights the unity of God’s message throughout different prophetic traditions.
Gospel of Barnabas 39
“Then God gave his soul to the man (Adam), while all the holy angels sang: Blessed be thy holy name, O God our Lord.”
Adam having sprung up upon his feet saw in the air a writing that shone like the sun, which said:” There is only one God, and Muhammad is the messenger of God.” Whereupon Adam opened his mouth and said :” I thank thee, O Lord my God, that thou hast designed to create me ;but tell me, I pray thee, what meaneth the message of these words: “ Muhammad is the messenger of God.” Have there been other men before me?
Then said God:” Be thou welcome, O my servant Adam, I tell thee that thou art the first man whom I have created. And he whom thou hast seen(mentioned) is thy son,who shall come into the world many years hence, and shall be my messenger, for whom I have created all things;who shall give light to the world when he shall come; whose soul was set in a celestial splendor sixty thousand years before I made anything.
Adam besought God saying: Lord, grant me this writing upon the nails of the fingers of my hands. Then God gave to the first man upon his thumbs that writing; upon the thumb nail of the right hand it said:” Muhammad is messenger of God then with fatherly affection the first man kissed those words, and rubbed his eyes and said: Blessed be that day when thou shalt come to the world.”
(Prophet Muhammad the last messenger in the bible by Kais AL kalbi page.99 Gospel of Barnabas 39)
The above passage indicates that Adam, the first man, was informed by God about the future arrival of Muhammad, who would be a messenger and illuminate the world. Adam eagerly welcomed this news and requested the message to be inscribed on his thumbs, showing anticipation and reverence for Muhammad’s eventual arrival.
Mark 1:7
7 And this was his message: “After me comes the one more powerful than I ( Prophet Muhammad PBUH), the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.
This message implies that the superior and exalted status of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) who will come after Jesus. The expression about not being worthy to stoop down and untie the sandals signifies a deep sense of humility and acknowledgment of the greatness of the one to come.
What Jesus said about Prophet Muhammad?
“And call to mind when Jesus, son of Mary, said: “O Children of Israel, I am Allah’s Messenger to you, I verify the Torah which has come before me, and I give you the glad tiding of a Messenger who shall come after me, his name being Ahmad.Yet when he came to them with Clear Signs they said: “This is sheer trickery.” (Chapter 28, Surah 61 verse no 6 Quran).
